The Fencing Hertfordshire CIC AGM's are on the frist Friday in July each year.

Friday 1st July 2022

Friday 7th July 2023

Friday 5th July 2024

The meeting will commence at 8.30pm at the Hertfordshire Combat Centre, Unit 5, St Albans, AL1 5HN

ACADEMY SABRE SQUAD U12 & U14

2021-2022 Season

Congratulations to the following athletes who have been selected for the Academy U12 & U14 Sabre Squad for the 2021-2022 season. There are two groups, Home Squad and Travelling Squad. These Age groups will also compete in U11 & U13 events where applicable.

Home Squad

These athletes are at the develomental stage of their  Competition journey. They are either young in their cateogry or new to the competition circuit. Athletes from this group could be moved to the Travelling Squad during the season based on their results or performances. These athlete will represent the Academy and enjoy the experience of being part of the Team and working towards a national ranking. It might not happen immediately but starting the journey is the key to success.

Travelling Squad

These athletes are highly competitive and have potenital to make the England and Great Britain Team for U14 internationals. As the Travelling Squad these athletes will attend the nominated events across the UK to represent the Academy and collect national ranking points.

Process & Expectations

  • Athletes will be informed of the nominated events by the Academy.

  • Athletes enter the event via the Hertfordshire Combat Centre Link. The Academy staff will bulk enter athletes to the event.

  • The event fee includes the Coaching Fees. Coaches will be there for all athletes and there will not be an equal amount of time between athletes at every competition even though all athletes will be part of the squad.

  • Athletes represent the Academy as PDFA

  • Athletes will wear the Team colours and fightware during the competition - Tracksuit, tshirt, socks

  • Athletes will attend the competition as a Squad and stay and support their team mates.

  • At Coach attended events - On the day Parents will register the athletes with the designated coaches and enjoy the competition as a spectator if they wish to attend the competition

  • For the Travelling Team the Academy will look to organise Transport. Drop off and collection will be form the Hertfordshire Combat Centre. the Transport Fee will be included in the Entry Fee.

  • Athletes will approach the competitions in a professional and mature mindset to ensure they make the most of the opportunities.

  • Athletes will be proud of the Team they are part of.

  • For Internaional Competitions there will be compulsory Team meetings to plan the trip.

CHECKLIST FOR YOUR FIRST FENCING SESSION

5th April 2021

  • We are in a new location - Hertfordshire Combat Centre, Unit 5, Campfield Road, AL1 5HN

  • There is plenty of parking onsite and on the local roads. Please take care of pedestrians when driving around the car park

  • Parents are still not able to come inside the venue (even though we would love to show you around)

  • Face coverings and COVID procedures are still in place

  • Fencers must bring indoor trainers to change into.

  • Fencers are to wait outside socially distanced until registered to enter the building.

  • Please wait in the designated areas to avoid moving vehicles

  • Parents are to ensure their contact details are provided and correct prior to the first session

  • Fencers who are in the Compete or Performance sessions or Membership need to have their own equipment or get a long term hire of equipment from the Academy.

  • Follow the Academy on social media to keep up to date with the latest news

  • You can get your Academy training sportware online and collect it at your first session.

NEW FENCING SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

5th April 2021

Moving Paul Davis Fencing Academy from a local School hall into a purpose built venue has allowed the Academy to offer scheduled training six days a week. The sessions are now more bespoke for age, weapon and ability. We understand the schedule might not fit everyones current needs, but we are sure once you have an opportunity to see inside the Hertfordshire Combat Centre, you will not want to leave! We want to make ourselves as flexible as possible to members, whilst ensuring the Fencers are in the correct sessions so please get in touch with Maria and see what we can offer you.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and into the unknown can be scary and exciting, challenging and rewarding, and definately a great idea! at the Combat Centre we are here to make your experience full of positive memories. Here are 5 tips to make the most of your experiences:

  1. Approach every challenge with an open mind.

  2. No question is a bad question.

  3. Attend the session in sportwear and indoor trainers (no shorts)

  4. All equipment is provided (does not include any gardening tools!)

  5. We will put all your research from Hollywood movies to good use!
